My doctoral research involves the creation of a
portfolio of original compositions influenced by the idea of palimpsests of time
and place. The research is adopting an iterative test cycle, gathering feedback
both online and from usability labs to inform the development of the portfolio
and the techniques it employs. An overview of the overall methodology is shown
below.![]() ![]() The results of research to date can be seen in the "London then and now" techniques; the work in progress on "digital media compositions"; and in the aural-only "music" compositions. The videos below provide some insights into the focus and development of this research. |
